My Darkest Hour

I remember a night that was so void of light
I almost gave up trying
A call of “lo here,” “lo there,” I’d look but nobody’s there
My questions burned like a fire

Oh where do I turn in my darkest hour?
No where to run, but no where to be
I don’t need a sign, I don’t need parted seas
Only the way shown unto me

If there’s something you seek
You just have to speak and it will be given
If it’s wisdom you lack
You just have to ask and it will be given

Like a voice from the dust James fills me with trust
So I ask of Him
Who’s no respecter of persons, He who was first, “The
Beginning and End”

Oh where do I turn in my darkest hour?

I don’t need wine. I like my water fine.
Only the way shown unto me

If you yearn to be free
Well have faith in me and I will deliver
My son, don’t be afraid
I won’t upbraid. My grace is sufficient

Pillar of light, cut through the darkness, conquer my sadness
Knowledge and righteousness flow unto me
Peace in your presence, mercy from heaven
Him on the right hand speak unto me
